Bill Sprague – President
Owner Bill Sprague is a graduate of West Chester University of Pennsylvania. He grew up in Darby, PA and now resides in Ridley Twp, PA. He has been in the insurance industry for over 10 years, starting his career as an insurance agent in Newtown Square, PA. During his time there, Bill specialized in insuring high-value homes and vehicles. From there, Bill worked as a project manager with Advisen Ltd in Kennett Square, PA. Here, Bill worked with insurance “big-data,” specifically regarding large commercial lines of business such as Professional, Management, and Cyber. For several years after, Bill was the Senior Business Development Manager at Infinity Insurance Company in Philadelphia, Chester County, Delaware County, and Montgomery County. He spent this time working with other insurance agents to understand products, develop new business, and set and meet goals.
With his well-rounded insurance background, Bill opened Risk Averse Insurance in Media, PA in 2015 with the hopes of bringing his customers service options from online tools to good old fashioned face-to-face. He hopes to provide you with top-notch customer service and get you the coverage you need at a price you can afford.
Marc Millison – Vice President
Marc is a graduate of West Chester University where he proudly finished magna cum laude. He has been in the insurance industry for 11 years. Marc spent his first 10 years as an account manager with Kramer-Warner Associates. During this time, he specialized in Commercial insurance with a focus on small to medium sized companies across all business sectors. He was responsible for every aspect of soliciting, developing, and managing insurance portfolios for 400+ businesses. Marc genuinely loves commercial insurance, and it is because of this that he is considered an expert in the field by his colleagues and clients.
Meghan DiGiovanni – Commercial Account Executive
Meghan joined Risk Averse Insurance in January 2018. She grew up in Delaware County, PA and now resides in Haverford Township, PA. She has been in the insurance industry for five years, starting her career as a small business agent in Newtown Square, PA. She then moved on to an agency in King of Prussia, PA where she handled middle market accounts for retail and healthcare exposures.
Meghan has a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI. At Salve she was captain of the 2013 Women’s Intramural Championship Basketball team. She has always loved sports, specifically basketball, and currently coaches youth sports in her spare time. Meghan loves to work as a team and go above and beyond to help her clients. It is her goal to provide you with top-notch customer service.
Don Blizzard – Risk Management Adviser
Don is a life-long resident of Delaware County; he grew up in Ridley Park and currently resides in Nether Providence, PA with his wife and son. He has been working as an insurance producer since 2004 and before joining the team at Risk Averse, he had successful stops in agencies in Havertown and Media, PA. He takes a consultative approach with clients and believes that the most important parts of any transaction are the relationships and trust built throughout the process. Don is an avid music fan and when not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf as often as possible.
Fred Burns – Risk Management Adviser
Fred grew up in Collingdale, PA, and is a graduate of Monsignor Bonner Highschool Class of 2003. After his first job at Wawa and college at West Chester University, Fred decided to jump into the mortgage industry working as a mortgage processor and junior underwriter for both Wells Fargo and Bank of America. After that, he dabbled in sales via network marketing, which eventually landed him at Watmuff Insurance Services dba Goins & Hewitt Insurance as an Account Manager and Insurance Producer. With a combined 15 years of mortgage and insurance experience, Fred now joins the Risk Averse team. He puts himself in the customer’s shoes, understanding that the object is to get you the best possible price while still having the best possible coverage.
Outside of the insurance world, Fred loves spending time with his wife, daughter and son. Fred also attended the Connecticut School of Broadcasting and is co-host and writer for Edge of Philly Sports. He is a HUGE fan (some would say fanatic) of the Eagles, Sixers, Phillies & Flyers. Fred enjoys coaching youth sports as well.
Erik Westervelt – Risk Management Adviser
Erik joined the Risk Averse team in June 2020. He is a graduate of Temple University with a degree in Journalism & Political Science. Having spent his entire adult life in one form of sales role or another, he comes to us after spending more than six years as a captive insurance agent. Erik was a successful producer in his previous role handling personal lines coverage and is excited to bring his skills and expertise in this area to Risk Averse.
Born and raised in Delaware County, Erik currently resides in Media with his wife Jennifer and son Andrew. He is an avid Philly sports fan, music and film enthusiast, and enjoys creative writing in his spare time. Additionally, Erik hosts a weekly Quizzo/trivia game at a local Media establishment on Wednesday nights. Erik is thrilled to be part of the Risk Averse team. He strives to provide expert consultative services and good coverage insurance at affordable rates to all of his customers.
